Try Nights * Classes * Workshops * Gift Certificates

Our classes are designed to provide step-by-step instruction suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced ceramic artists seeking fresh ideas and challenges. We will demonstrate best practices for working with clay and glazes, assist you in bringing your creative concepts to fruition, and encourage you to freely experiment and explore on your own.

Which One is Right For You?

Try Nights - A fun time to learn how to throw on the wheel in a single 2-hour session. Pick your two favorite pieces for us to glaze and finish for you.

Semester Classes

8 Week - A mixed-level class for both beginners and experienced ceramicists. Learn the fundamentals of working with clay, including wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques as well as more advanced sculpting and decorating techniques. We encourage students to bring in their own ideas and support artists to work independently if they prefer. This is primarily a student led class. We are here to instruct you on exactly what you want to learn (even if that’s everything).

4 Week Beginner - Have you never touched clay but always wanted to give it a try? Or maybe it’s just been a few years and you’re not ready to jump into an 8 week commitment yet. In these 4 weeks we will break down every stage of working with clay and how best to function in our studio. We will go over both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. You may only take this class 2X at the most, as you’ll be ready to graduate to the 8 week mixed-level class.

Workshops - One-day specialty workshops are a deep dive into a specific skill or technique you may be interested in learning more about. Workshops will open for current studio members first, and then to the general public. Certain workshops may require you to bring work either fired or unfired.

Gift Certificates Available

Gift Certificates can be redeemed in our retail store, or put toward any of our classes.

Throwdowns

No commitment necessary! We’ll give you all the clay you need, show you how to throw on the wheel, and let you go wild! Our instructors are there to assist you every step of the way, but this is primarily a fun-time event. You get to keep 2 of your creations and choose their glazes. We will trim, glaze, and fire your pieces for you. You can pick them up in a few weeks or we can mail them to you. At the end of the night, just pack up and go! We’ll take care of the clean-up. Try Nights are for those 16 and older.

Offered select Friday and Saturday Nights

6 - 8 PM

Just bring yourself and a junky towel.

Pieces are usually ready for pick-up within 5 weeks.

Pieces can be mailed to you for an additional cost of $15.

At least 48 hours cancellation notice must be given to receive a refund

Though we do everything we can to make sure you have finished pieces, sometimes the kiln gods have other ideas, especially with beginner work. We can make no guarantee you’ll have 2 pieces make it through the firings.

Semester Classes

Classes run once a week for 3 hours and include all necessary tools, an individual shelf to keep your work, and one 25 lb. bag of clay. Students may buy additional clay directly from the studio. Students also have full access to the studio during all open studio hours. Classes are run based on your interests and preferred pacing. Ideal for both beginners and more advanced artists.

Class prices include all glazing and firing fees. Please check out the Studio Handbook for more information.
